Maryborough is the ideal short holiday destination from Brisbane, being just three and a half hours drive from the capital. I think that three days away would be the minimum time to see most things for the temporary tourist. Activities which you may wish to do could include, Eskdale House, River Tours, Mavis Bank tours 07 4123 5497, Rose Hill tour 07 4122 1093, "Charlcombe" tour 07 4122 2400, a visit to Brennan & Geraghty's Store Museum, a Wharf Street Walk which includes, The Bond Store Museum, Customs House Hotel, Customs House and the Court House.

If you would like a short drive, the township of Brooweena might be more your style. When you drive into Braweena, it is like driving back into time 50 years. If you   would like further information contact the Maryborough Tourist Information Centre, P.O. Box 235 Maryborough Qld, 4650 07 4121 4111. For meals, the local R.S.L. is quite good value too if you are looking for a good meal for the family.

If you  are looking for something a little more private Muddy Waters restaurant is quite nice as is the restaurant at the Blue Shades Motel. Other points of interest area Fraser Island and Hervey Bay which are only a short distance from Maryborough. The area also advertises trips to Lady Musgrave and Lady Elliot Islands.
